Mail Day - Thanks Jon!
Was very surprised this week when 7 very generous envelopes arrived from Johnny's Trading Spot.
It was very much appreciated after a highly stressful week at work and gave me something to look forward to doing to relax this evening!
The envelopes arrived in two rounds and the first round contained a nice group of 2024 Topps Series 1. I think back in the summer we talked about what needs I may have toward set completion.
Even though the first round were mostly dupes now, they will find good homes as I like to give cards away to my youngest son's baseball team during the Little League Season.
Round 2 though... Wow! This Round was awesome.
First group is 15 2024 582 Montgomery Logo Cubs! These are a first in my collection and really like the hologram logo background.
The Team Card is my favorite out of this group.
Another interesting card is this 1979 Rookie Outfielders...I almost tossed it as I thought it was packaging until I turned it over! I think this would be a printing error but it may be a cutout from a food package? Jon?
More cool cards followed from the 1983 Return of the Jedi cards! I was pretty young when these came out (6) but have that whole movie memorized as we watched it over and over as kids.
The last group is by far the most appreciated! Some 1955 and 1956 Cubs and KC A's needs. Hard to believe I now have so many 70 year old cards I now have in my collection. The '55 Topps are my first ever!
These cards are so appreciated and really made my week! Next post I'll plan to summarize where I stand on the 56 Cubs Team as this made a huge dent.
Thanks again Jon!
Yeah, somehow that 1st round was sitting under another stack that I hadn't moved in 6 months. Some of those older ones though were in that stack.
ReplyDeleteNo worries at all as I'll never complain about free cards! Is that 1979 card really a printing error or was it cut out of something? I'm curious about that one!
DeleteWow, those '50s cards. I've finished the '56 set, but always impressed when someone gets some in the mail.
ReplyDeleteThe Rookie OFs card is from '78, I'm guessing it's a blank back? Printing error. Those happened sometimes in '70s and '80s. I've got a couple.
I agree. 50s cards are awesome! My goal is much smaller, Cubs and A's. I'm going to struggle with the Ernie Banks!
DeleteLove the blank back rookie outfielders card. Very unique. And nice Mon Mothma rookie card :D
