2025 Spring Break Card Shops

Wow, just spent a great week in Jupiter Florida! It was a much needed break from work and the first real week of vacation since starting the new job back in June.

Some invaluable family time with boys that are rapidly growing older (15 and 11!). From beautiful morning walks in Carlin Park with my wife to afternoon / early evening swims out in the Atlantic with my two boys, we love spending time here.

Even found the time to visit not one, but two local card shops.

One day took a drive to Stuart to visit McNulty’s Card Shop and spend about two hours looking through all the vintage they have (and it’s a ton of it). He has about 30 or so 1000 card boxes full of vintage and it was a great time looking for needed Cubs to add to team sets. He also hides all kinds of finds in the boxes too, as evidenced by this second year Schmidt and vintage Younts. I could not pass these up for $1!!! In the next few posts will update the Cubs team sets was able to complete. This well loved Ernie Banks was also an amazing add as well!

On Friday late morning after we packed up for our 18 hours of driving over the weekend, found another shop over in Abacoa. This time my oldest even tagged along but he has zero interest in collecting these days, which makes me sad, but I know when I was 15 that girls get way more attention!

The Hobby Shop was a great surprise tucked within the shadows of Roger Dean Stadium. Talked to the husband and wife owners (awesome) and found out they were from Effingham Illinois — only about an hour away from my hometown. Was cool to see that they followed their dreams and started their business in a very under-served area! They had some great value boxes and I was able to find this amazing Santo relic and Alfonso Soriano relic, along with a few 2025 needs in the dime box!

Overall was a great break and am so fortunate to be able to enjoy time with family!

  1. Sounds like it was an overall amazing break. One day I hope you can stop by Ocala to do some digging.

    1. Definitely! We drove right by you!

I do sometimes have to visit our locations in Edgewater for work, so one of those visits will drop you a note!

  2. Some solid finds in that vintage dollar box. Congratulations! Not sure if those two relics were a dime each... but if they were that's an even better find.

    1. The relics were $1 (for the Soriano) and $3 for the Santo…still bargains by far!

  3. Good for those hobby shop dealers! I know it's hard to run a brick-and-mortar shop, but Florida seems like an ideal spot (and for me, wandering through a hobby shop is much preferable to swimming). Hope they keep it going for a long time.

I was still collecting at 15, but I didn't have the distractions teenagers have now.

    1. Florida is a pretty good spot. The teenage distractions now are many, however since the oldest plays football AND baseball there is not much time for anything else!
