The Oldest Card in My Collection
It was nice to be able to unplug the phone / email for a bit and just reflect and re-focus on the last 17 months - that have felt like 17 years...
Took a couple of hours and visited our local card shop today. Had a nice time visiting with a fellow vintage collector as we looked through dime boxes and vintage boxes. He was several years older than I was (he started mid 70s, while I started in mid 80s).
It was so refreshing to hear a collector who just enjoys collecting to collect. His approach is collecting Hall of Fame players and he had his paper check list out finding players. We talked about his days coaching baseball and basketball, our favorite baseball teams, and about the World Series tonight.
I found several vintage Cubs needed for team sets, several 1972 and 1970 Rookie All Star cards. While Dave, the LCS vintage expert was pricing my cards, he asked if I wanted to see any of the 40s Bowmans that he just got in. For $20 was able to pick up all these vintage cards -- not bad at all!
In addition, last week John again passed along a nice care package of a few more Cubs. These are really appreciated and am so appreciative to be able to continue to add to the Ryne Sandberg collection, which is really growing here lately.
There is one thing I've been unable to find out anything about. John passed along this Albert Almora Heritage, which looked normal enough until I flipped it over and the back has no stats whatsoever. I've searched Google, Ebay, ChatGPT and lots of other sites, but can't find anything about this card.
Anyone out there know anything about this and willing to share would be greatly appreciated!

The Almora was 1/3 of a Heritage box topper
