Fortunate for my birthday to fall right after Thanksgiving break again this year. Really needed this 4 day weekend to re-energize and re-charge after an extremely busy fall.
Had a nice Turkey Day with family and was able to enjoy some time visiting with my brother and his family. Friday was a great day as well and super-thankful our offices were not open for work. Before the Bears big win was able to take a nice hike with my youngest (we do a lot of trails together). We never know what we're going to find and this guy just jumped out in the trail right in front of us. Was kind of amazing how it was not afraid of us and just watched as we went by on the trail.
Tonight my official birthday was fun as we enjoyed our annual Christmas in the Village Parade. My oldest walks with his football team and I volunteered to drive our work's LED truck. The truck is pretty cool and can show any video you want on it -- this is just one of our season's highlights. Afterwards we went out to our favorite Japanese Hibachi restaurant followed by a harrowing drive home in a snowstorm!
With it being my birthday I did get some nice cards to open. This year was a 2025 Holiday box of Three tins. My wife got a little confused at it as I think typically these are bought to open and break up! Each tin has 59 cards in it, so I'm theoretically super close to just getting the set completed! I'm pretty sure that I was able to get the All-Star Rookie Cup team set as well...
I did get some nice additional non-base inserts. The Blue Foil Holiday lights parallels are nice and would look great for the Cubs - I'll have to see if anyone wants to trade for those. There were also three of the Santa Hat / Peppermint Bat short prints. Finally there was one Light Blue and White Glitter insert which is pretty nice.
I'll update tomorrow how close (or far) I am to finishing the 2025 Holiday set!
Happy birthday
